“Reacting to a new book quoting Karl Rove as saying she will be the 2008 Democratic nominee for president, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said Monday that President Bush’s chief political strategist ‘spends a lot of time obsessing about me.'”
Hillary Clinton believes Karl Rove and other Republicans are using her to divert attention from Republican problems as the 2006 congressional elections approach. She may be right. They also may be scared and feel Hillary, and her husband, may be the best targets to fight against.
There are other likely candidates. Other than those who ran in 2004, Evan Bayh, Mark Warner and Russ Feingold are on the list to watch.
